This is a full 30-day evaluation (unlimited number of users and computers), until a serial number is entered. It is not required to reinstall the program after getting the serial number, all parameters are preserved.
Network computers: first start the installation on the server and keep "localhost" as the server address (host). Then the clients must be installed and configured with the server's address instead of "localhost". For standalone computers, keep "localhost".
The installation of SurfPass can trigger anti-spyware programs because of its network filtering module.
These messages must be ignored.

The computer used for the administration requires the presence of the .Net framework 2.0 or above, which can be downloaded from the Windows Update. Included in Windows starting from Windows Vista/2008. Version 2.0 (Windows 2000 SP4) can be downloaded here, version 3.5 (XP/2003) here. The installation of the .Net framework on the client and on the server is optional (not required by SurfPass). It is possible to check its presence in the control panel, Add/remove programs, “Microsoft. Net framework”.
If an old version of SurfPass is present on the machine (v1 to v3), it must absolutely be uninstalled before the installation of version 4. After the uninstalling, it is possible to import the previous parameters if no file is manually erased.
The antivirus must be deactivated at the installation and uninstallation.
The user manual is in the folder created by the self-extraction, in the subfolder "doc".
If a firewall is activated on the server machine, TCP ports 3050 and 5030 must be open on the server to allow connection of the clients. There is no port to open on the clients.
Once the installation is finished, open the window of SurfPass, use admin as login and cogilab as password to get connected. Then you will be able to consult the online help (Acrobat Reader 8+ necessary) and to configure the program. Configuration and administration accounts can also be reached from the Windows desktop: Start/All programs/Cogilab/SurfPass4.
To uninstall SurfPass, go to the control panel / Add-remove programs / SurfPass4.
